Half-lenght bust of Iupiter Puer facing, holding tablet inscribed SORS. Cr. 405/2; B. 10. AR. 3.84 g. 18.50 mm. R. Rare. A choice example of this fascinating and difficult issue. Lovely light iridescent tone. Usual minor areas of weakness, otherwise about EF. It was at Praeneste that the institution of the oracle known as the Sortes Praenestinae was closely associated with the worship of Fortuna (RSC I, p. 74).
