Greek Asia. Pamphylia, Aspendos. AR Stater, c. 420-370 BC. Obv. Two naked athletes, wrestling, grasping each other by the arms; between their legs, KI. Rev. ΕΣΤFΕΔΙ[ΙΥΣ] Slinger wearing short chiton, advancing right, discharging sling; in right field, triskeles of human legs; the whole in dotted square. SNG von Aulock 4557; SNG BN 104. 10.87 g. 24.00 mm. Great metal and full flan. An oustanding example, from masterly engraved dies and prettily toned, with iridescent hues. Virtually as struck. Good EF.
