Greek Asia. Pamphylia, Aspendos. AR Stater, c. 420-370 BC. Obv. Two naked athletes, wrestling, grasping each other by the arms; between their legs, KI. Rev. ΕΣΤFΕΔΙ[ΙΥΣ] Slinger wearing short chiton, advancing right, discharging sling; in right field, triskeles of human legs; the whole in dotted square. SNG von Aulock 4557; SNG BN 104. AR. 10.87 g. 24.00 mm. Great metal and full flan. An oustanding example, from masterly engraved dies and prettily toned, with iridescent hues. Virtually as struck. Good EF.
