Faustus Cornelius Sulla. AR Denarius, 56 BC. Obv. Laureate, diademed and draped bust of Venus right; behind, sceptre; above, S-C. Rev. Three trophies; on either side, jug and lituus; in exergue, monogram of FAVSTVS. Cr. 426/3; B. 59. AR. 3.95 g. 18.00 mm. Scarce. Great metal and full weight. Perfectly centred and superb. Enchanting cabinet tone with underlying luster. Exceptional and virtually as struck. Good EF.
