Lucius Caesius. AR/AE Fourrée Denarius, 112 or 111 BC. Obv. Youthful bust of Vejovis left, seen from behind, holding thunderbolt in upraised right hand; in right field, ROMA in monogram. Rev. Lares Praestites seated right, each holding staff in left hand; between them, dog; above, bust of Vulcan with tongues over shoulder; on left, LA (ligate); on right, ER (ligate); in exergue, L. CAESI (AE ligate). Cr. 298/1; B. (Caesia) 1; RRSC D97. AR/AE. 3.02 g. 20 mm. VF. According to Crawford, the monogram on obverse may stand for Apollo or Argento Publico, rather than ROMA.
