

Titus as Caesar (69-79). AE/AR Fourrée Denarius, hybrid with Vespasian. Obv. T CAES IMP VESP PON TR POT. Laureate head right. Rev. PACI AVGVSTI. Winged Nemesis advancing right, holding out fold of drapery below chin, and holding winged caduceus, pointing down at snake erect, gliding right. Cf. RIC II-p. 1 (2nd ed.) Titus 366 (obverse of a denarius), Vespasianus 1180 (reverse of an aureus). 3.06 g. 18.5 mm. RRR. Extremely rare. A very intriguing and fascinating issue, apparently few specimens known. Blackish deposits. Good VF/VF.
