Trajan (98-117). BI Tetradrachm, Alexandria mint (Egypt). Obv. Laureate head right. Rev. Agathodaimon serpent upright, holding caduceus and ear of grain. BI. 11.22 g. 25 mm. The date on the reverse is not clearly visible; it could be RY 11, RY 14 and RY 15. Good F. Very interesting and rare Trajan's tetradrachm depicting the serpent Agathodaimon, who was considered 'good spirit', deity of vineyards, fields, good, happiness and wisdom. It was customary to drink a glass of unmixed wine as a celebration of each meal.
