

Faustina I (died 141 AD). AR Denarius, Rome mint, 139-141. Obv. FAVSTINA AVGVSTA. Draped bust right, hair elaborately waved in several loops round head and drawn up and coiled on top. Rev. IVNONI REGINAE. Throne, ornamented and draped, in front below, peacock standing right with tail spread; on left, transverse sceptre leans against throne. RIC III (Ant. P.) 339A. 2.91 g. 17.5 mm. Lightly toned. Some surface flaws on obverse, otherwise. VF.
