Licinius I (308-324). AE 3, Heraclea mint, 313 AD. Obv. IMP C VAL LICIN LICINIVS P F AVG. Laureate head right. Rev. SOLI IN-VICTO. Sole, radiate, draped, standing left, raising right hand and holding head of Serapis in left hand. Tillack - Heraclea (p. 265, no. 102); https://www.notinric.lechstepniewski.info/6her-78_soli_lic_b.html; Cf. RIC VI - (Heraclea 78, Avers Maximinus Daia). 4.97 g. 21.5 mm. RRR. Very rare. Slightly rough surfaces. Apparently missing in the standard references. About EF/EF. Not in RIC! Licinius is not listed as the ruler for this reverse type, nor is officina B. The data for the issues from Heraclea have not yet been fully researched, so coins that are not included in the RIC keep appearing. However, Stepniewski is already familiar with this coin type and places it between RIC 75 and 78 in his supplements.
