Draped bust right, hair elaborately waved in several loops round head and drawn up and coiled on top. R/ [Μ Γ]ΑΛΕΡΙΟϹ ΑΝΤ[ωΝΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΟϹ ΑΝΤωΝ]ΙΝΟΥ ΥΙΟϹ. Draped bust of Galerius Antoninus right. RPC online IV.3, 3006. AE. 11.4 g. 27 mm. RRR. A very rare type. Encrustations. Slightly porous surfaces. Cleaning marks. About VF. M. Galerius Aurelius Antoninus was the second son of Antoninus Pius and Faustina, but he had already died before his father became emperor. This coin was issued to honour the memory of the empress and her son.
