Austria. Maria Theresa (1740-1780). AR Taler, dated 1780, SF. Modern restrike. Hafner Type III/e. AR. 27.92 g. 40.5 mm. Uneven light toning. Good VF. Since the death of Maria Theresa in 1780, the coin has always been dated 1780. After introducing the decimal system (1 Gulden = 100 Kreuzer) in 1858, it lost its status as a currency in Austria. The 'Maria Theresa Thaler' continues to be produced by the Austrian Mint in Vienna.
