Cornelia Supera, wife of Aemilianus (died 253 AD). AR Antoninianus. Rome mint. D/ C CORNEL SVPERA AVG. Diademed and draped bust right, on crescent. R/ VESTA. Vesta, veiled, standing left, holding patera and sceptre. RIC IV 30. 3.29 g. 22 mm. RRRR. Roughness. Extremely rare and good example for the issue. VF. Gaia Cornelia Supera was the wife of Aemilianus. Like the wife of Gallienus, Iulia Cornelia Salonina, Supera was descended from the illustrious gens Cornelia. Nothing else is known about her, apart from what can be gleaned from the coins struck in her name.
