This medal was struck for Doña María Guadalupe de Moncada. 79.89 g. 56 mm. Very rare. Mounted. F. The Order was created by King Charles IV of Spain by royal decree of 21 April 1792, at the request of his wife, Queen Maria Luisa of Bourbon-Parma. The Queen wished to establish the Order to honor princesses connected with the House of Bourbon and noblewomen who distinguished themselves through their virtues and services. Upon its creation, Queen Maria Luisa was granted full authority to determine its membership, selecting thirty ladies from the most distinguished noble families of Spain.
