Erlanger 1661; Bernheimer 464; Laverrenz 144. 25.76 g. 41 mm. Opus: Andreas Vestner. On obverse double strike with die shift. Good VF. Christian Gottlieb Schwarz was a philologist and university teacher at the University of Altdorf (Nuremberg). He was elected repeatedly as dean and rector of the university as well. His scholarly work concentrated on the poets of the epic cycles, the satires of Sulcpicius, on works of Cicero and Plinius, and on latin lexicology. He was created an 'Imperial court palatine' by the Holy Roman Emperor.
