ENAMELLED MILLEFIORI OPENWORK BRONZE DISC FIBULA.
Roman period, 2nd-3rd century AD.
Complex military (?) disc brooch shaped like an openwork disc, composed of four circular enameled discs with red, blue and withe millefiori decor alternating with four openwork circles each with small circular protrusion filled with enamel. Two arms placed at right angles connect the enameled discs. At the intersection ot these arms, there would normally be a stem surmounted by an attached enameled disc, wich is missing. 11.59 g. 44 mm. Enamel partially missing. One openwork circle broken with missing protrusion. Needle intact but catch not complete.
