Commentary published in the DO: “In his unpublished catalogue of the Shaw Collection, Laurent identifies this Constantine as the son of Michael Bourtzes, the conqueror and first duke of Antioch. Constantine served under Basil II, but was blinded by Constantine VIII upon his accession to the throne.” Lead.
