According to the sources, the prefericulum was a bronze vessel used for sacrifices, open at the top and resembling a pelvis without handles. In modern archaeology, the term is used to designate a jug that is almost always portrayed on funerary altars, sacred monuments, and coins alongside the patera and other worship tools.
