Aes Premonetale. Aes Formatum. Large fragment of a cake-shaped bronze ingot. Central Italy, 8th-4th century BC. Haeb. pl. 6,4. AE. 1661.00 g. RR. 135x96x32mm. Very rare and among the heaviest recorded fragments. Enchanting untouched green brown patina, with rust reddish spots. As cast. This fascinating example has the weight of an Aes Signatum ingot (or Quincussis).
