Greek Italy. Central and Southern Campania, Capua. Carthaginian at "Capua" (c. 216-211 BC). EL 3/8 Shekel. Obv. Janiform female heads wreathed with grain. Rev. Jupiter, holding thunderbolt and sceptre, and Victory in quadriga right. HN Italy 2013; SNG Cop. 357. EL. 2.82 g. 12.50 mm. RR. Very rare and in excellent condition for issue. Minor uncleaned dark deposits. Good VF. The types of this issue are clearly adapted from those of the Roman quadrigatus (where, however, the heads are male). (HN Italy, p. 161, 2013 note).
