Lot # 1094 - AA.VV. Associazione Culturale Italia Numismatica Quaderno di studi VII Editrice Diana 2012. Brossura ed. pp. 188, ill. in b/n. Il volume è stato interamente dedicato ad Andrea Morello, storico Presidente dell’Associazione, scomparso nel febbraio del 2011. Le prime quattro pagine sono un breve ricordo della Persona, scritte dai figli Antonio e Francesco; segue la bibliografia relativa ai lavori prodotti da Andrea, dal 1994 al 2009, prevalentemente pubblicati per l’Associazione che presiedeva e per la rivista Monete Antiche. Il primo studio, è opera di Alberto d’Andrea che analizza la tipologia delle monete emesse dalla zecca di Cuma tra il V e il IV secolo a.C. La sintesi è molto ben strutturata e, nella parte introduttiva, l’Autore ha esposto le motivazioni della divisione in quattro serie (o periodi) della monetazione dell’ antica città; segue il catalogo delle varie tipologie e la relativa bibliografia. In questo volume sono stati inseriti alcuni scritti di Andrea Morello che furono editi sulla rivista Monete Antiche; tale iniziativa nasce dalla volontà di ricordare ai soci dell’ACIN come egli fosse uno studioso prolifico, ma anche il Suo modo semplice di rivolgersi a chiunque, tramite i suoi studi. Ad esempio, in quattro sintetiche ma efficaci pagine, egli si soffermò su “Due stateri di Taranto firmati da Kal.. raffinato incisore di monete della Magna Grecia”. Chi ebbe la fortuna di conoscere Andrea, sapeva bene che tra i suoi pensieri persistenti c’era la volontà di riuscire a classificare e attribuire una particolare tipologia monetale di cui scrisse le sue conclusioni in un articolo dal titolo “La riscoperta di una moneta dell’Italia antica. Il tipo Dioniso/Pantera è stato emesso a Minturnae?”. Questo scritto, pubblicato sulla rivista Monete Antiche, fu ripreso da Andrea che rimpì di annotazioni, correzioni e aggiunte; Antonio Morello ha voluto così riproporre l’articolo riveduto e corretto, così come ebbe modo di fare Andrea. Antonio Morello, nella presentazione di questa raccolta, ricorda come Andrea era un grande appassionato della monetazione della Repubblica Romana. La stessa passione è stata trasmessa di padre in figlio e quest’ultimo l’ha approfondita con particolare dedizione, cominciando a pubblicare qualche risultato dei suoi studi sulla rivista Monete Antiche e in un volume dedicato alla prima monetazione enea, prodotta per fusione, con i tipi divinità/prora; tale monografia fu pubblicata nel 2007 e con Andrea si sono aperte spesso delle discussioni; il tempo, ha fatto il resto, facendo maturare alcuni pensieri che hanno indotto l’Autore a rivedere alcune parti del suo scritto. Poco prima della scomparsa di Andrea, Antonio fece leggere alcune delle sue rettifiche che erano state destinate ad un corposo articolo; Andrea ne fu entusiasta ma non fece in tempo a vederne la stampa che invece è qui contenuta con il titolo di “Osservazioni sulle prime monete di Roma: serie divinità/prora”; l’Autore ribadisce, con maggiore incisività, la sua proposta di collocare la prima serie, con questa tipologia, a non prima del 258 a.C. Katia Pontone ha voluto esprimere il suo interesse per l’iconografia femminile della famiglia giulio-claudia analizzando con particolare attenzione le emissioni dei dupondii di Tiberio emessi del 22-23 d.C., raffiguranti la Salus, Iustitia e la Pietas, proponendo di vedere in quelle immagini rispettivamente Livia, Antonia, Livilla (o Vipsania). Tale proposta non è inedita ma l’Autrice ne approfondisce alcuni aspetti con paragoni iconografici e notizie storiche che ne avvalorerebbero le sue pertinenti conclusioni. Raffaele Iula approfondisce “Il profilo di Giulia Drusilla” con un’attenta “Analisi storiografica e numismatica per una ridefinizione del suo ruolo storico-sociale”. Questo lavoro è integrato con interessanti immagini monetali e una dettagliata bibliografia. Alberto Trivero Rivera, a seguito di molte discussioni aperte nei forum numismatici online, scrive un contributo dedicato a “L’orbis terrarum nella monetazione romana” approfondendo la rappresentazione del globo, in particolare, sulle emissioni imperiali; pregevoli illustrazioni a corredo, fanno di questo lavoro un interessante riferimento, offrendosi con una lettura avvincente. L’articolo di chiusura è di Andrea Morello: “Iconografia paleocristiana sulle monete romane tardo antiche: la Fenice”, già edito sulla rivista Monete Antiche e qui riproposto affinché fossE ricordato un bel lavoro, che fu tanto caro all’Autore.
