Proto-monetary. Rouelle or Wheel Coin (Bronze, 18.60 mm, 2.21 g). Gallia to Helvetia, extending as far as the Balkans. Six-spoked wheel, two of the spokes apparently repaired by means of a right-angled brace attached to the central hub. A unique specimen of its kind, for which no parallels have been found in the bibliography consulted by us. It appears to have been produced on special commission, almost as if intended as a votive offering rather than a proto-monetary object. Dark green patina.
