ΔI/MI/T/PI/O/C Saint Demetrios standing facing, nimbate, holding spear in his right hand and resting his left on shield. Rev. +KЄ [R,Θ,] / TⲰ CⲰ Δ૪, / NIK-ΦⲰR / RECT TⲰ / .... in five lines. Lot # 191 - Byzantine Lead Seal. Uncertain, circa 11th century (Lead, 20.80 mm, 9.38 g). Θ / Π/A...- Θ... Two nimbate saints standing front, their hands raised in supplication. Rev. "The Seal of the Writings of Roman [..]", in four lines (the last line is not clear, maybe the title patricius or a family name). Apparently unpublished in the standard references. Rough surfaces, otherwise, Good Fine. An interesting Byzantine seal of 'provincial' style. gr. 9,38
