Commentary by GMS: Another obol of the year 11 of Hadrian (126-127) coming from the nome Ossirinchite (Upper Egypt) with on the reverse the deity Thoeris – Athena standing at left with her usual attributes (chiton, peplum, helm) plus the addition of the double axe in the left hand and in the right one, a victorious Nike with wreath and palm branch. Thoeris, female Egyptian deity looking like a hippopotamus, protectress of motherhood, was subject of cult at Oxyrhyncus.
