Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (R.M.B.I.) Steward’s Jewel, 1973, by Marples & Beasley (34.89 x 46.36 mm, 20.96 g).
A gilt and enamel Steward’s Jewel for the 1973 R.M.B.I. Festival, the blue enamel top bar reading STEWARD, suspending a crimson ribbed ribbon applied with a gilt Pegasus emblem. Below hangs a circular gilt jewel with laurel wreath border, the centre enamelled in blue and white depicting a stag beneath a tree, surrounded by the legend ROYAL MASONIC BENEVOLENT INSTITUTION, and dated 1973 in a lower panel. Reverse stamped MARPLES & BEASLEY, BIRMINGHAM, with original pin-back fitting.
Condition: Very fine; minor surface wear to gilt, ribbon lightly aged but intact, enamels bright and undamaged. An attractive example of a later R.M.B.I. festival jewel.
