Helmeted head of Athena right, with profile eye, wearing earring, necklace and crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves over visor and a Pi-style palmette on the bowl. / Owl standing right, head facing; to left, head facing, olive sprig and crescent; to right, AΘE; all within incuse square. HGC 4 1599. AR. 17.1 g Ø 22.5 mm Slightly rough surfaces. Dark patina. VF. Due to the slightly rough style it is possible that this specimen is an Eastern imitation - examples of similar style are described both ways in standard catalogues.
