This type features ornamental Kufic calligraphy, following the Hafsid style, similar to the coins attributed to Abu Hafs 'Umar al-Murtada, minted at 'Al-Hadrat al-Muminiya al-Murtadiya'. This similarity suggests that they were minted in the same period by contemporary governors.
