Viktor Graf von Scheuchenstuel (1857–1938) was an Austro-Hungarian officer who rose to the rank of Colonel General during the First World War. He played a prominent role in the Balkan and Italian fronts, commanding forces in the 1915 campaign against Serbia, including the capture of Belgrade, and later participating in operations on the Italian front. The references on the medal to Belgrad 1915, Zugna Torta 1916, and Col Santo commemorate key engagements connected with Austro-Hungarian offensives in Serbia and in the Trentino sector during the Strafexpedition of 1916.
