Roman period, ca. 1st – 3rd century AD.
Cast bronze component from a locking mechanism, probably part of a sliding bolt or internal lock plate. The rectangular body is pierced with four triangular openings arranged in a lozenge pattern. The lower section terminates in an elongated tongue or pin, functional within the locking system. Stable dark green patina and minor surface corrosion.
