TWO ROMAN IRON KEYS
Roman Empire, circa 1st–3rd century AD.

Pair of iron keys, each with a looped handle and a short shank terminating in an offset bit. The simple construction is characteristic of Roman keys used for small locks, likely associated with caskets or domestic fittings.

The surfaces show heavy oxidation and corrosion.
