GNATHIA-TYPE BLACK-GLAZED RIBBED VESSEL WITH HANDLES
Magna Graecia, circa 4th–3rd century BC.
Small black-glazed terracotta vessel with globular ribbed body and two opposed strap handles rising from the shoulder. Short neck with slightly everted rim. The shoulder is decorated with added red-painted geometric motifs, characteristic of the Gnathia decorative tradition.
The surface shows extensive wear and encrustations, with partial loss of the added decoration. The underlying clay is visible in several areas.
