Southern Apulia, 'Campano-Tarentine'. AR Nomos, c. 281-228 BC. D/ Diademed head of nymph left. R/ Nude youth on horseback right, crowning horse, that raises left foreleg, with wreath; below, TA on dolphin swimming right. HN Italy 1098; Vlasto 1002; HGC 1 951. AR. 7.33 g. 20 mm. Superb coin, virtually as struck, with enchanting bright surfaces and delicate light tone. Area of flat strike on reverse. Very rare in this condition. Good EF.
