Northern Lucania, Posidonia. AR Stater, c. 470-445 BC. D/ Poseidon striding right, brandishing trident, drapery hanging from shoulders; in front, ΠOMES (downwards). R/ Bull standing left; above, ΠOMES (retrograde). HN Italy 1114; HGC 1 1151. AR. 7.76 g. 21.5 mm. Lightly toned. Particularly well-centred on the reverse, which displays lovely detail. Good VF.
