He came to the throne upon the death of his father Vespasian, at the height of the ‘Pax Romana’, and was able to distinguish himself by a leadership style marked by benevolence, compassion, and a sense of responsibility to the people. From a military point of view, Titus was an experienced commander. He led the successful siege of Jerusalem in AD 70, during the Jewish War, and also intervened in Britain, consolidating the stability of the imperial borders. These victories contributed to his reputation as a capable leader, both in battle and in domestic politics. However, his reign was not without difficulties. He faced natural disasters and occasional tensions with the Senate, which struggled to accept the increasing centralization of imperial power.
