Lot # 1024 - VIKING SILVER DRAGON AMULET Viking Era, c. 9th-11th century AD. Viking amulet in silver, in the shape of two dragon 'Fafnir' heads forming an S with a rosette with a raised dot in the centre. Dimensions: 28 x 10 mm. Weight: 2.46. Rare and extremely fascinating item. Minor missing at the bottom. In Nordic mythology, Fàfnir is the son of Hreiðmarr, and brother of Regin and Ótr and is attested throughout the Völsung Cycle, where, Fàfnir slays his father out of greed, taking the ring and hoard of the dwarf Andvari and becoming a worm or dragon.

Lot # 1029 - BYZANTINE LEAD PLAQUE Byzantine period, c. 7th - 14th century AD. Rectangular lead plaque from the Byzantine era, with the cross and inscription on one side in the upper part and with phytomorphic motifs in the lower part. On the other side there is a standing facing figure with halo, spear, armor and shield, perhaps Saint Michael the Archangel. Dimensions: 39 x 29 mm. Very rare and interesting item. Better in hand. Damaged.

Lot # 1032 - FURNITURE DECORATION Renaissance, c. 15th - 16th century. Decoration for furniture in gilded bronze with a rectangular shape, made up of two intertwined ropes to form two knots and in the center a pyramidal element with a low relief. Dimensions: 44 x 32 mm. 18.65 g. The knots recall the symbolism of the Savoys, even if they were not their exclusive prerogative.

Lot # 1044 - IRON HOWITZER PROJECTILES Reinassence, 16th - 17th century. Lot of fourteen (14) iron projectile probably for a falkonet howitzer. ca. 480 g. each one x 51 mm. wide. FE. One of the falkonet's illustrious victims was Commander Giovanni dalle Bande Nere, wounded in the thigh during a battle against the landsknechts near Governolo and died of gangrene a few days after the amputation of the limb.
