The elaborate reverse scene on this drachm, issued in year 18 of the reign of Antoninus Pius (154-155 AD), probably refers to the regular recovery of the production and sea traffic of cereals produced in Egypt, with the reopening of trade relations between Rome (with the Tiber) and Egypt (with the Nile) in concord after settlement of an uprising of the Egyptian agricultural class attested by the edict of the prefect Sempronius Liberalis, dated 29 August 154 AD. (Cf. Vogt I, p. 129).
