In this rare and splendid tetradrachm, too, from the famous Dattari collection, the rough portrait of Caesar Constantius presents a realistic physiognomic profile also favoured by the enviable condition of preservation of the coin with its high and sharp relief. The Athena of the reverse, solemnly seated on her throne, sumptuously clothed and equipped with all the canonical divine attributes, watches over the rulers of the Tetrarchy constantly engaged in defending the borders of the empire.
