He is primarily known from two shabtis, currently housed in the Louvre, which were dedicated during an Apis burial at the Serapeum of Saqqara. These burials are dated to the 16th and 30th years of Ramesses II's reign. It is believed that Huy held his position as High Priest of Ptah from around the 2nd to the 20th year of Ramesses II's rule. His successor was Pahemnetjer.
