

Sicily. Selinos. AR Didrachm, c. 417-409 BC. Obv. Herakles right, wielding club and grasping horn of bull right; partially retrograde ΣEΛI-NOT-I-ON around. Rev. HVΨΑΣ. River god Hypsas standing left, holding short olive branch and patera, pouring libation over altar around which a serpent twines; to right, selinon leaf above heron walking right.
