L. Appuleius Saturninus. AR Denarius, 104 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Roma left. Rev. Saturn in quadriga right; below horses, control-symbol and pellet ; in exergue, L. SATVRN. Cf. RBW 1171; RRSC D115.3b; Cr. 317/3b; B. (Appuleia) 1. 3.76 g. 20 mm. An outstanding example, well centred on a broad flan. Superb light iridescent tone, with reddish hues. Good EF/About FDC.
