Time of Tiberius. AE Spintria, Rome mint, c. 22-37. Obv. Cuirassed bust of Tiberius right, with spear on shoulder in linear border, all within wreath. Rev. V in dotted border, within wreath. Cf. Buttrey ('The Sprintiae as a Historical Source' Numismatic Chronicle, 1973), p. 62, n. 17. AE. 4.11 g. 21 mm. RRR. Extremely rare and fascinating example. Dark patina with green and reddish spots. Minor corrosion spots on obverse. VF/Good VF.
