Cheshire Masonic Charities Steward’s badge, dated 1906, gilt and enamel, suspended from its original pale blue ribbed silk ribbon.
The obverse with an enamelled multi-pointed star badge inscribed “Cheshire Masonic Charities”, dated 1906, centred with a heraldic shield bearing supporters and armorial devices, all within a blue enamelled circular band. The star backed with white enamel arms and laurel wreath details. Above, the ribbon mounted with a gilt and enamel suspension bar inscribed “Steward”, surmounted by ornate scrollwork, and a small enamelled shield device affixed to the ribbon. The reverse with openwork star backing plate, retaining its original long pin fitting, and stamped “Kenning & Son, London”, with maker’s marks to the lower arm.
A fine and well-detailed early 20th-century Cheshire Masonic Charities steward’s badge, retaining good enamel colour and original ribbon.
Condition: Very good, with light surface wear and age-related patina; enamels largely intact with minor losses; ribbon showing expected wear.
