Royal Arch / Allied Masonic Degrees – Steward’s or Officer’s Jewel (36.90 mm, 17.86 g).
An unusual and attractive Masonic jewel, suspended from its original multicolour ribbed silk ribbon, the colours arranged in vertical bands of red, blue, green, yellow and white. The ribbon is mounted with a decorative gilt top bar featuring foliate engraving, fitted with original pin fastening to the reverse.
The jewel consists of a crescent-shaped metal suspension supporting a translucent shield-shaped pendant, finely engraved on each side. One face displays a sacred triangle within a circular inscription in Hebrew characters, while the reverse shows a corresponding circular emblem with further symbolic lettering, reflecting esoteric and ritual significance associated with higher Masonic or allied orders.
The reverse of the crescent retains maker’s hallmarks and the original suspension fittings, all intact.
Condition: Very Fine. Original ribbon present with light fading and minor wear; pendant well preserved with clear engraved symbols; metal components showing light age-related patina; pin and suspension complete and functional.
A distinctive and visually striking Masonic jewel, appealing for its symbolism, colour and quality of manufacture, well suited to collectors of British and allied Masonic regalia.
