Gilt metal jewel suspended from a broad red ribbed silk ribbon, the upper suspension bar enamelled and inscribed “PRIMO” between two small crosses. The obverse with a circular enamelled central medallion inscribed “ROYAL ANTEDILUVIAN ORDER OF BUFFALOES”, enclosing a detailed allegorical scene with standing figures flanking a central shield, all within a scalloped gilt border. Plain gilt reverse. Original horizontal pin fitting to the reverse of the suspension bar.
An attractive and well-preserved example of an early Buffaloes Primo jewel, retaining strong colour to the enamel and ribbon, with expected light surface wear consistent with age.
Condition: Very good, minor wear and patina commensurate with age.
Period: Circa 1900–1925.
