Maker: British manufacture A well-preserved post–First World War Peace commemorative medal, suspended from its original rainbow-striped silk ribbon, symbolising the Allied victory and the restoration of peace following the Great War. The obverse features a finely cast dove in flight carrying an olive branch, suspended beneath a textured semi-circular arch, emblematic of peace and reconciliation. The symbolism is both elegant and direct, characteristic of British commemorative issues produced in the immediate post-war period. The medal is suspended from a decorative silver-toned bar, retaining its original pin fitting. The reverse is plain, as issued, showing the original suspension and fittings. The construction and ribbon style are consistent with privately issued British peace medals of 1919–1920, often worn alongside official campaign awards. Condition: Very Fine.
