Hallmarked Sterling Silver (gilt finish) with coloured enamels and a hand-painted centre, suspended from its original pale blue moiré ribbon. In a black leather fitted box, gilt-tooled to lid, by Spencer & Co., London (box slightly used). A very attractive Founder jewel for Goodmayes Lodge No. 5070, featuring a blue enamel top bar inscribed FOUNDER, mounted above the original pale blue ribbed ribbon, with a gilt crossed swords emblem applied to the ribbon. Suspended below is an ornate oval badge with a deep blue enamel title band reading GOODMAYES LODGE, and a matching lower scroll No 5070. The centre is finely hand-painted with a landscape scene—trees and a pathway beside water—giving the piece strong visual appeal and a distinctly “lodge view” character. Reverse: The reverse retains the original long pin fitting. It is engraved in script: “Bro. J. H. Lethaby”, and bears a maker’s stamp and hallmarks at the lower edge. Condition: Very good. Ribbon with age wear/creasing and slight fraying; painted centre well preserved with normal age marks; enamel generally strong; silver gilt with light surface wear; fittings secure.
