Royal Masonic Institution for Boys, Silver Jewel, 1939, by M. Spencer Ltd., London (32.03 x 43.03 mm, 24.03 g). A fine silver and enamel jewel of the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys, the gilt and enamel escutcheon displaying the traditional RMIB arms within a blue border, inscribed ROYAL MASONIC INST. FOR BOYS and dated 1939 on the pendant scroll. The piece is suspended from a pale gold ribbon fitted with an earlier, non-matching bar reading 14 JUNE 1897, likely a later addition. Reverse struck with full London sterling silver hallmarks and the maker’s mark of M. SPENCER LTD., LONDON. Condition: Medal very fine; enamel intact, light wear to gilt; ribbon aged with oxidation to suspension bar; top bar not original to the jewel. A genuine 1939 RMIB silver jewel, unusual due to its assembled suspension.
