Maker: Fattorini & Sons, Birmingham Material: Gilt metal with enamel; original ribbon Period: 1940s (dated 1949) A distinguished and ornate Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes (R.A.O.B.) District President Jewel, dated 1949, awarded to a high-ranking Brother serving at district level. The jewel combines rich gilt ornamentation with bold enamel detail and is suspended from its original multi-coloured ribbon. The upper suspension bar is a decorative gilt element inscribed PRESIDENT, with a matched lower bar engraved 1949. Between these bars hangs the original blue ribbon with red, white, and yellow central stripes, embroidered in gold with the intertwined RAOB initials R.A.O.B. G.L.E. The large pendant medallion features intricate openwork scrolls forming an ornate eight-pointed frame. At its centre is a circular enamel boss displaying the letters P C (Provincial Council) in red, white, and blue enamel. The overall craftsmanship reflects the elaborate regalia style worn by senior RAOB officers in the mid-20th century. Reverse The reverse is engraved: PRESENTED TO BRO. S. FERGUSON R.O.H. FOR SERVICES RENDERED G. B. P. (Boxed monogram). R.O.H. (Roll of Honour) indicates a senior rank achieved through merit.
