A finely made gilt-metal and enamel steward jewel issued by the Royal Masonic Institution for Girls in 1954. The elaborate medallion displays the Institution’s armorial shield—scales, green cross and crossed quills—beneath a helmet and tower crest, all within a red-and-white enamelled oval border inscribed R.M.I.G · 1954. The motto PERSEVERANCE AND COURAGE appears on a blue scroll below.
Suspended from an ornate gilt scroll bar enamelled STEWARD and attached by a decorative chain, typical of Toye & Co. workmanship.
Reverse stamped TOYE & Co LONDON.
Condition: Very fine; enamel crisp and complete; minor wear to gilding; suspension chain fully intact.
A scarce mid-century RMIG jewel of attractive manufacture.
