Mn. Aquillius. AR Denarius serratus, Rome mint, 71 BC. D/ Helmeted bust of Virtus right; on the left, III·VIR; on the right, VIRTVS. R/ Warrior, holding shield in left hand and raising up fallen female figure (the Sicily) with right hand; on the left, MN·F·MN·N (both MN ligate); on the right, MN·AQVIL (MN ligate); in exergue, SICIL. RRSC D194; Cr. 401/1; B. 2 (Aquillia). AR. 4 g. 20 mm. Full weight and superb example, sound metal. Well centred, with bright fields. Good EF.
