Cornelia Supera, wife of Aemilian (died 253 AD). AR Antoninianus. Rome mint. D/ C CORNEL SVPERA AVG. Diademed and draped bust right, on crescent. R/ VESTA. Vesta, veiled, standing left, holding patera and sceptre. RIC IV 30. AR. 3.29 g. 22 mm. RRRR. Roughness. Extremely rare and good example. VF. Gaia Cornelia Supera was the wife of Aemilian. Like the wife of Gallienus, Julia Cornelia Salonina, Supera was descended from the illustrious gens Cornelia. Nothing else is known about her, apart from what can be gleaned from the coins struck in her name.
