RONZE RING WITH OVAL BEZEL
Late Roman to Early Medieval period, circa 4th–7th century AD.
Cast bronze finger ring with an oval, slightly raised plain bezel and gently faceted, somewhat angular shoulders. The hoop is of rounded section and shows a robust, utilitarian form.
The absence of engraved decoration suggests it may have been worn as a simple personal ornament or possibly intended for later inscription.
The surface shows a green patina with traces of reddish encrustation.
Ring size: [to be measured]. 5.86 g. 24 mm. It is possible that this item is at the first stage of production before someone had purchased it and gave instructions for engravings on the bezel.
